The Eau Claire City Hall and Complex, located in the center of downtown Eau Claire, comprises the original City Hall building, former City Library building, and the central Fire Department. Represented on the National Register for Historic Buildings, this important site presented the unique challenge of total fire alarm system upgrade coupled with historic preservation.

Our project team utilized existing sub-grade tunnels, chases, and concealed interstitial spaces to route cabling for minimal penetration of historic wall and ceiling treatments. We achieved total compliance with fire codes, while minimally impacting the building aesthetic. Our design efforts included review of original building materials, to achieve an installation which did not disrupt any hazardous materials present at the site.
The end result of the project was a total replacement and upgrade of fire and life safety systems in the complex with state of the art, intelligent fire systems.
