The Idaho Falls Regional Airport Terminal Expansion project focuses on preparing the existing facility infrastructure to support future growth in both physical footprint and operational demand. The work includes comprehensive upgrades to the airport’s electrical and mechanical systems to improve capacity, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
The electrical scope involves reconfiguring the power distribution system to accommodate increased loads, replacing aging and end-of-life equipment, and constructing a new external powerhouse to centralize and modernize facility electrical utilities. On the mechanical side, the project replaces outdated boiler systems with high-efficiency condensing boilers designed with built-in redundancy to ensure uninterrupted service.
Cooling capacity is enhanced through the addition of a new chiller, providing both immediate operational resilience and scalability for future expansion. Supporting mechanical systems are extended to serve the new powerhouse, ensuring cohesive and efficient integration across the facility. Altogether, these upgrades position the airport with a resilient, energy-efficient infrastructure framework capable of supporting continued growth and evolving operational requirements.
