Fairview Southdale Hospital serves the Southwest metropolitan area of Minneapolis, Minnesota with over 40 specialty services. From patient rooms, birthing center, radiology, cafeterias and meditation sanctuary spaces, engineering design services required coordination amongst many groups and disciplines.
Michaud Cooley Erickson (MCE) recently completed work for The Elsie O. Mitchell Meditation Sanctuary at Fairview Southdale Hospital. The space is intended as a shelter for all who seek comfort and peace. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients, families, volunteers and guests. The space features a prayer wall inspired by the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem for people to share their hopes, fears, sadness and joys.
The Radiology and Imaging Suite was an exceptional project catering to the needs of patients while integrating the best in class MRI technologies. Full service electrical, mechanical and fire protection engineering services was provided by MCE.
Perioperative center at Fairview Southdale involved a complete demolition of an existing aging structure and new construction in a 30 phased approach. Total transformation from a vintage 1960’s facility to state of the art systems today provides the highest standard of care for patients.
