Bureau of Criminal Apprehension

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension facility consists of a 226,000 square foot, three story building which contains office space, forensic laboratories and support space. The forensic lab occupies all of the third floor and accounts for nearly 100,000 square feet of the building. Design of the electrical systems in the instrumentation rooms was critical due to the quantity of sensitive electrical instrumentation. Mechanical systems were designed to support the large amount of air exhausted from the lab spaces and include energy recovery. The design of the forensic labs included reverse osmosis and deionized water systems, acid waste and controllable lighting systems. An emergency generator provides emergency power critical lab loads, building lighting and life safety systems.
