United Family Medicine, located in the Peter J. King Family Health Center in St. Paul is Minnesota’s first Medical Clinic to achieve LEED Silver certification. MCE’s mechanical and electrical design of the United Family Medicine medical office building resulted in building energy efficiency 18% greater than code, and an accumulative domestic water savings of 30% beyond baseline standards. Key design features for the project include an enhanced CO2 based outside air control system, ultra low-flow plumbing fixtures, and personal occupancy sensor controls for powered equipment and LED task lighting at workstations.
