MacPhail Center for Music

Michaud Cooley Erickson (MCE) provided the MEP design for the new MacPhail Center for Music building. The 55,000 square foot facility includes 56 teaching studios, nine classrooms, a grand hall, an informal performance hall and an outdoor performance plaza. MCE provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the project. Consistent temperature/humidity control and achieving low sound levels (NC 25) were key components in designing the mechanical systems for the building. MCE also designed sleek and modern, yet energy efficient, lighting systems for this project.
