The New Guthrie Theater is located in the historic Mills District on the south bank of the Mississippi River in Downtown Minneapolis. Michaud Cooley Erickson (MCE) designed full MEP and Commissioning for this three-stage theater complex. The facility is 250,000 square feet. Beyond the three stages, the Guthrie also includes classroom space for more than 100,000 students who participate annually in the Guthrie education programs. MCE was also involved in the design of other aspects of the complex including a parking ramp, food services, a 25,000 square foot scene shop and book and gift shops.
