Metropolitan Airports Commission

MCE has provided engineering services for the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) since 1993 and is currently designated as the sole provider of those services for MAC owned projects. Notable projects completed to date include the 300,000 square foot Hubert H. Humphrey (HHH) Terminal, which currently serves ten gates and connects to the HHH parking ramp with 9,583 stalls, expandable to more than 13,000. Other MCE projects include a new 60,000 square foot fire station, a Vehicle/Field Maintenance Building, a Trades Building, a deicing facility, a glycol recovery facility and a number of remote airport noise monitoring stations and sound abatement projects. MCE has also assisted in writing the mechanical and electrical construction standards for the MAC and has created an on-going energy conservation program that has reduced the MAC’s energy bills by $3 million per year (circa 2009) and earned over $1 million for the MAC in utility company energy rebates.
