Aviation

Working in the aviation industry is a significant part of Michaud Cooley Erickson’s (MCE) engineering work effort. Over the past 14 years, MCE has completed many successful projects, including over 500 for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport (MSP) – Terminal 1, Humphrey Terminal-Terminal 2, Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and all seven county reliever airports. We have developed a detailed understanding of the engineering infrastructure working in terminals, fire stations, parking ramps, hangars, retail spaces and other support facilities at the 12th busiest international airport in the United States. MSP handles over 32.4 million passengers per year and has about 13.8 million square feet of terminal and parking ramp space. In the process of providing detailed mechanical and electrical design, commissioning these projects, troubleshooting and upgrading mechanical and electrical systems, MCE has helped airport staff improve maintenance procedures and operating practices. As a result, energy usage has been significantly reduced, reliability has improved and the construction process has become easier to plan and predict.
